Congress Leader Files FIR Against Minister Tinku Roy in Kailashahar, Tripura

Political tension rises in Kailashahar after Congress leader files a written complaint against state minister Tinku Roy.

Allegations of Fake Educational Certificate and Concealment of Criminal Records

Kailasahar, Tripura: Tripura Congress leader Chandrasekhar Sinha has filed a police complaint in Kailashahar against state minister and Chandipur MLA Tinku Roy, alleging fake educational certificates and concealment of criminal cases in his election affidavits, triggering fresh political controversy in the state.

Congress leaders, including advocate Narsingh Das, held a press conference at the Kailashahar Congress Bhavan

According to the complaint, Tinku Roy claimed in his election affidavits of 2018 and 2023 that he passed the Higher Secondary Examination in 2004 from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. However, as alleged, the board from which the certificate was reportedly obtained does not actually exist, and the educational documents submitted were fake.

Sinha also alleged that the minister suppressed details of a pending criminal case registered against him at the West Agartala Police Station, despite declaring in his affidavit that no such cases were pending.
