Madhya Pradesh Creates History: Two Metro Projects & Two Metropolitan Areas in One Year

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav proudly announced that the state has become the first in India to build metro trains in two locations within a single year. Alongside this, Madhya Pradesh has also set another record by creating two metropolitan areas — a move that marks a new era of urban growth and connectivity.

Indore-Ujjain Metropolitan Area: A New Growth Corridor

  • The Indore-Ujjain Metropolitan Area is envisioned as a hub of economic, cultural, and infrastructural development.
  • With Indore already recognized as a smart city and Ujjain as a spiritual capital, this integration will boost tourism, trade, and employment opportunities.

Bhopal Metropolitan Expansion: Capital City Rising 

The second metropolitan area will encompass Bhopal and its surrounding regions, strengthening the capital’s role as a center for governance, education, and industry.
